Eye of the Tiger pendant - (tiger eye gemtone point, sterling silver)

Description

Striking banded patterns leap into view in this gorgeous beautiful tiger's eye gemstone point pendant. A long, well cut point in a simple and attractive sterling setting, which allows all of the gem's character to show! This stone is one of my favorites for the neutral and warm colors - because of the glowing bands and also because of its metaphysical qualities. Tiger's Eye is a stone for the mind, not the body (even though Roman soldiers wore it for protection).

Tiger's Eye is a deep golden brown, with shimmering bands that change as the light changes or as you move. It comes in deep red and deep blue gray (also called Hawk's Eye), as well, but this pendant is of the most common golden brown variety. The point is 2" (5 cm) long and 3/4" thick, with a simple loop bail on top and is READY to SHIP.

Tiger's Eye is often confused with Cat's Eye gemstones. The difference is in the fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica in Tiger's Eye, which are twisted, giving more random chatoyancy (shimmering) than cats eye generally has.

This particular stone has incredibly vivid vertical banding (very striking!), but has one very small flaw at the base of the point (see photo #2). The banding way offsets that, but I did reduce the price slightly, as a result.

Tiger's Eye (Tiger Eye) is a stone of protection that is also very grounding. It enhances integrity, willpower, practicality and correct use of power. It is a stone that enhances good luck, and brings prosperity, often in the form of money. Tiger's eye is also a very protective stone which is especially protective during travel. It can also help one see clearly without illusion. Tiger's eye brings a special boost to the solar plexus chakra and to one's personal power.
