Description

This is a hand pressed linoleum cut of 2 red apple tree magnets. Its about 3&1/4 X 4&1/4 inches each. They are original prints laminated on to a magnet.

Its printed with Daniel Smith Oil Based Ink on Rives Paper Cream (100% cotton and acid free).

About Linoleum Relief Printmaking Technique

The relief print is the simplest and most directs of all the printmaking techniques. Relief printing is a subtractive printing process where areas meant not to print are physically removed. Thus resulting in the image areas to be printed to be left behind and created in relief. This is achieved by cutting away the areas of the image, which are not meant to print. The remaining areas that are in relief are the areas that will print. Materials most commonly used for this technique are wood and linoleum; while plaster and clay slabs maybe used as alternative printing substrates.
