This is NOT a scrabble tile pendant, therefore, it does require additional preparation. First the wooden blank must be sanded. Then the back and sides are painted and then varnished. The face of the pendant is coated with resin rather than a glaze. The resin is more difficult to work with and there are failures from time to time, but the effort is well-worth the outcome: a beautiful glass-like shine.
