Asase Ye Duru From the Earth We Arose, to the Earth We Shall Return - 8x10 Handpulled Linocut (Relief) Print
Description
Asase Ye Duru is one of a group of symbols known as adinkra, from Ghana and the Ivory Coast, west Africa. Asase Ye Duru translates to "the Earth has weight", serving as a reminder of the importance of the Earth in sustaining life. This piece is a celebration of growth and new beginnings, but it also helps us remember our inevitable return to the earth from whence we all came. This print is an original - part of an open edition - linocut print and measures 5 inches by 7 inches. Overall paper size is 8 inches by 10 inches. It is also the second of a series of prints based on my thoughts and feelings about the Adinkra symbols.
I carve each lino image and print each piece by hand so they are all unique.
