Self Portrait Long is oil on Masonite board, an original painting I made a few years ago in Brooklyn.I was looking in a full-length mirror and it felt exhilarating to make this portrait, even though it emerged looking sad, that's what came out exaggerated. Someone close to me remarked about how sad the piece is and I became embarrassed about it after that for a long time. But now I love it. Making the piece was lots of fun and empowering and sparked a series of more self portraits in 2003 and 2004.
The dimensions are 10 inches x 23 1/2 inches.
