floral and corduroy shoulder bag from recycled shirt-- one of a kind

A corduroy shirt paired with some reclaimed fabric I found at a thrift shop has been given a new life and created into beautiful, sturdy bag for you!

Fully lined with soft cotton in a rich shade of burgundy and all the edges are cleanly serged with white thread. The white highlights the lines of the bag really nicely.
I took the pocket off of the corduroy shirt and placed it on the front for a little storage space for ipod, cell phone, keys, spare change, or whatever else! Plus two large roomy pockets on the inside to keep everything organised. This bag closes with a flap over the top and two button & buttonhole closures. The buttons are handmade - covered with soft burgundy fabric by me, keeping this bag secure so that nothing will ever fall out!

The strap is 3.5 inches wide (so its comfortable and soft on the shoulder) and 40 inches long so it can be worn over one shoulder or across the body. The bag measures 15 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and 3 inches deep. Large and sturdy enough to carry books, things you need for a day around town, or your everyday essentials, without being cumbersome. Lots can fit inside!

As a fun finishing touch, a leaf pattern is appliqued in one corner on the front using scraps of the corduroy, and the straps are embellished with button and placket detailing.

This bag is gorgeous, unique, and completely one of a kind because I'll never find this vintage floral fabric again or the shirt.
