Purple chevron amethyst handknotted necklace with detachable pendant

Description

This divine handknotted (in black silk)necklace measures 47cm in length, the width being 10mm. The pendant drop adds 4cm to the necklace.
It is hand knotted in black silk and wire worked in 14 karat gold fill.
This necklace was made so that the contemporary necklace may be worn on its own with the clasp at the back of the neck, or turned to the front with the pendant attached.
A unique purple amethyst necklace indeed.

Amethyst has the chemical composition of silicon dioxide which may be coloured by iron.

Amethyst was a favoured gemstone in the Art Deco period.
It is calming and balancing, alleviating stress and associated migraines.
