Octopus pendant - natural history jewelry

These bizarre and beautiful undersea creatures have frightened, fascinated, and delighted people for millennia. Octopuses come in all colors and sizes, but this pendant features the Pacific Giant Octopus, a colder water species that can have an armspan of up to 14 feet! You might not know that octopuses are actually molluscs, related to snails, clams, and scallops -- they just don't have a shell.

The drawings contained in each of these pendants are reductions of my own original pen, ink and watercolor illustrations, inspired by the etchings of Victorian naturalists. Every piece comes with a keepsake information card that tells you more about each animal, and is signed and numbered.

The pendants are sterling silver and glass, with resin-coated silver leaf on the back of the stone. I hand assemble every piece. They are approximately .8 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall, and come with an 18" oxidized sterling silver chain. This pendant can also be purchased with a 16"-18" inch adjustable black ribbon with sterling silver findings -- please specify "chain" or "ribbon" in your order.
