8" by 11 1/2" (20.5 by 29.5 cm.)original watercolour painting in a standard sized 16" by 20" (40.5 by 51 cm) triple mat with incised border. Unframed.

Signed by Lynn in lower right corner. The neutrals of the inner and outer mats (buff and pale grey) contrast with the smoke grey of the middle mat and all pick up the soft tones of this rather simple and peaceful scene.

Paintings are shipped in a resealable protective Crystal Clear bag, with 5 mm thick foam core used for stiffening and support. Larger paintings will also be sandwiched between clean, recycled cardboard for extra rigidity.

My artistic goal is to offer peaceful, restful images that honour Nature and that might be enjoyed within the context of a person's everyday life.

Most of these original paintings for sale online are from our own personal collection, and the mats, when included, are offered at no extra charge. Some people refuse to consider using anything other than a pure white mat surround. I'm no purist in that regard, and unless I'm preparing a painting for an exhibition where white mat is required, I prefer to select neutral surrounds that complement the painting.

I always use a good quality, acid-free watercolour paper such as Arches or Saunders for my watercolours and acrylics, usually in the 200 to 300 lb. range. I prefer a smoother finish (i.e. hot-press), because I like the washes to flow on smoothly for water and sky.

I prefer painting in my studio using my own or John's photos for inspiration--rather than braving the outdoors--especially since many of our most spectacular skies are at dawn or sunset in mid-winter!
