This one of a kind multi- medium necklace re-creates ancient Egyptian glamour.
Inspired by the 1920's Egyptian revival, it is made from black velveteen, gold brocade, embroidery thread, limestone, coral, brass plated chain and turquoise.

The pendant measures about 4" across and 3" down. The chain is about 20" long and is adjustable to be shorter because of the wire hook closure.

The embroidery is done on rich black velveteen using vintage stitch cams on my 1961 Necchi Super Nova Julia sewing machine. There is no computer imaging. The process to create this image takes hours of stitching back and forth to create the design. The colors of the thread which consists of gold, turquoise, royal blue and burgundy and carefully chosen to recreate the look of lapis, turquoise and carnelian found in ancient Egyptian scarab jewelry.

The turquoise teardrop shaped stones are sewn through the chain and wire wrapped into place to echo the look of the feathers and wings found on ancient scarab jewelry. The red coral bead is wire wrapped through the fabric.

This is a carefully crafted and thought out piece that you will never see anyone else wearing but yourself. You will feel like a Queen wearing it.
