Description

Mixed media portrait of one of the high school students involved in my Roll Models project at Maine College of Art in 2006. Six students posed for me over a period of two semesters - in exchange they received intaglio printmaking instruction after school in the MECA print department. They posed wearing their street clothes, and then they asked me if I would do costumed portraits of them. Thanh's family is from Viet Nam, and Thanh brought in his father's rice farming clothes to wear as his costume. I was very moved by this - I really love this portrait.
