Michelle's Nine Tailed Fox, 2006
Description
Mixed media portrait of one of the high school students involved in my Roll Models project at Maine College of Art in 2006. Six students posed for me over a period of two semesters - in exchange they received intaglio printmaking instruction after school in the MECA print department. They posed wearing their street clothes, and then they asked me if I would do costumed portraits of them. Of course I agreed! Michelle brought in a gorgeous authentic Japanese kimono, fan, and parasol, and as she posed, she talked about her obsession with a Japanese myth about a nine tailed fox.Mixed media on Rives BFK, 29" x 41"
