Stone Canyon Brecciated Jasper Pendant

Description

This 40x30cm Stone canyon Brecciated Jasper cabochon is quite unique and the colors are very vibrant.

Jaspers are found in many colors including red, brown, pink, yellow, green and shades of blue and purple. The organic material and mineral oxides in Jasper create interesting patterns. Because of the foreign materials, jasper is rarely uniform in color but commonly multicolored, striped or spotted. Brecciated jasper means that it came from sun-dried and oxidized iron-rich clay and the cracks were then later filled in by other substances.

The cabochon is set in a sterling silver bezel and ready to hang from a neckwire or chain.
