Indian Elephant Celtic Weave Sketchbook/Journal

Description

The paper features a fun Indian motif, my favorite part of the pattern is on the front bottom right with the rider on the elephant. The paper has two different shades of green, white, and maroon accents.

This book was sewn with two Celtic Weave stitching stations and one Coptic. The Celtic Weave functions like a Coptic in that it will open and lay completely flat, while adding a great decorative and structural element to the book. Each sewing station is just shy of 1" or 2cm wide. The book was sewn with hand waxed Irish linen thread. On the top cover all the stitching is all maroon, while the back cover has two white and one maroon stations. Each sewing hole has a silver eyelet both inside and outside the cover.

The text block is made from Fabriano artist paper that is 160g/m2. It is a very thick & toothy art paper that can handle any amount of ink or the wettest of watercolors. The paper is acid free archival quality. The text block measure 8.25"x5.75" or 21cmX15cm. The text block is 40 single or 80 double sided pages.

The covers are 8.5"x6" or 21.5cmX15.5cm and the book is 1" or 2.5cm tall.
