I have this box of vintage buttons. I'm pretty sure most of them once belonged to my grandmother. I used to paw through it for shiny ones when I was younger. My mother gave me the whole box several years ago, and they've been sneaking their way into artwork since.

So really, since I had all the buttons, I couldn't resist doing something Coraline-inspired.

6"x6" on .75" cradled board.

Pencil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, white charcoal, India ink, vintage buttons & black thread. Painting is on watercolor paper, the eyes are sewn through the paper. The watercolor paper is mounted on art board.

Edge of board is covered in modeling paste and vintage buttons, see detail photo.

Ready to hang as-is.

Titled, dated & signed on the back.

Includes extra coordinating buttons for your own nefarious purposes.
