Hand crafted Glass Pendant and Necklace

Description

This handcrafted fused glass pendant is made from multiple layers of glass. It is one of a kind and absolutely unique.

I started by layering cut glass into a mold and fusing it to create a patterned bar of glass. I then cut the pattern bar with a wet saw and laid the pieces out to form repeating natural patterns. I included squares of iridescent glass for an extra shimmer and shine. As a final touch, I placed thin stripes of red and black at the edges.

This art glass pendant is carefully designed and crafted. The back of the pendant has a lovely texture because I used a special fiber paper during the second firing of the kiln. I fuse it to over 1400 degrees and carefully anneal and cool the glass. The final pieces were polished with a wet belt for smoothly finished sides.

The pendant is attached to a sterling silver plated bail and hung from a black cord with sterling silver clasp. The bail is attached to the glass with an industrial adhesive.

The glass pendant measures approximately 2.2” long by 1.1” wide.
