Crouching Girl- original painting on handmade paper MATURE- this is a nude.

Description

This is an original mixed media painting of a nude on archival hand-made paper. The edges are naturally deckled, and the size is approximately 16" by 20".

I love this paper- it's quite thin, but the fibers are very visible, so it's almost as though it creates its own background. The girl is in the act of getting up from a crouching pose and is caught a little off-balance, a nice change from the seated and static poses one usually gets from a nude model. I did this from a quickly sketched image, so there is more movement.

This is from a series of similar pieces I exhibited in a gallery in the Midwest, but I think it is my favorite.
