This is a hand stenciled shirt featuring Gertrude Stein.

::WHO'S THAT LADY?::

"Gertrude Stein (February 3, 1874 – July 27, 1946) was an American writer who spent most of her life in France, and who became a catalyst in the development of modern art and literature. Her life was marked by two primary relationships, the first with her brother Leo Stein, and the second with Alice B. Toklas who became her lifelong partner. Stein shared her salon at 27 rue de Fleurus, Paris, first with Leo and then with Alice. Throughout her lifetime, Stein cultivated significant tertiary relationships with well-known members of the avant garde artistic and literary world. For example, Stein was friends with "up and coming" artists Matisse and Picasso in the early 1900s, writers Thornton Wilder and Ernest Hemingway in the 20s, and with the American GI's in the 40s. She was a poet and writer, Tender Buttons is the best known of Gertrude Stein's hermetic works."

This is not silk screened. I hand cut this stencil with an xacto knife.

This is apart of a feminism series of stencils I'm doing on influential women. I want to make this clothing to empower women. So, Represent! With these powerful ladies!

The shirt is RECYCLED. Brand new condition. Overstock purchased at a thrift store. 95% Cotton 5% Spandex. Long sleeved. v-neck.

COLOR: Light Gray.

SIZE: Mossimo size 1X (16W/18W).

Approximate Measurements: 48" Bust - 44" Waist - 27" length

Gertrude is printed in PURPLE.

::CARE INSTRUCTIONS::

Washable. COLD WASH GENTLE CYCLE. HANG DRY OR LOW HEAT. The gentler you are with it the longer it will last. If you need to iron it, turn it inside out and place a cloth on the shirt. Do NOT iron directly on the image!
