Float - exotic wood bowl

Description

After a year's gestation on my carving bench i finally have this one finished. Made from a solid block of Cebil, a South American wood, also known as Patagonian Rosewood. Four little legs keep it suspended off of the table or shelf.

I sanded it fine and finished it with multiple coats of rubbed pharmacy grade mineral oil and beeswax. Buffed to a low luster, it feels buttery soft and begs to be picked up. A light coating of oil or wax will keep it looking good forever.

The dish is 5 inches in diameter and the legs are almost 6 inches across. It stands 1 5/8" tall. signed and dated on the bottom.

A great display piece or use it to show off a treasure or support a candle.
