Buying this t-shirt helps support our documentary project, Secondhand (Pepe), which is about the history of used clothing and the immigrant experience. "Pepe" is the Haitian Creole word for "secondhand." My filmmaking collaborator, Hanna Rose Shell, and I are excited to announce that our film will be screening at MOMA on Feb 14 and 16, 2009. Our movie has also shown on Current TV, at the Slamdance Film Festival, Rhode Island Film Festival, and the Brooklyn Arts Council Film Festival.

The image of the secondhand sock peddler comes from a photo I took in a market in Port au Prince, Haiti. My husband, artist Mickey Duzyj, then made the graphic and we hand screen-printed the t-shirts together. This is a one-of-a-kind thrift store/indie film weird and wonderful t-shirt!
