Owl Magnet

Description

This owl magnet is made from Apoxie Sculpt, acrylics and a protective glaze finish. To make this piece I first hand-sculpted it with Apoxie Sculpt, made a silicone mold of it and then cast it with Apoxie Sculpt. Then I paint my piece with a primer, Gesso, to ensure a nice painting surface. Next I add the color with acrylics and finish it with a clear glaze. Finally the magnet is attached with Apoxie Sculpt, creating a very strong bond.

Apoxie Sculpt is the most durable medium I have ever worked with. It strongly adheres to just about any clean surface. This means the magnet is solidly attached to the piece. The magnet is a "power" magnet, which is stronger than the typical black colored ones found in most craft stores. Meaning this magnet is not going anywhere. Enjoy a little owl anywhere it will "stick".
