Black and 14K Gold Kenyan Kazuri Beads mixed with Black Onyx and 14K Gold beads in this striking and unique necklace. The ceramic Kazuri Beads are kiln fired with 14K gold. Necklace is 18 inches long with lobster clasp.

Kazuri comes from the Swahili word for "small and beautiful." Kazuri beads are made in Kenya. Susan Wood owns the Kazuri Bead company which employs single, disadvantaged mothers who have no other source of income. This company which started with just 2 employees, has grown to employ 300 women in Kenya. These women are paid above scale wages and provided with daycare, education and health care. There is now a waiting list to work there. The company is a member of the Fair Trade Federation. Every bead purchased contributes to the employment and well being of these women in Kenya.
