upcycled octopus stuffed animal from a Guatemalan Huipil / Olivia

Description

Olivia is a charming, playful, slightly sleepy-eyed octopus looking for a new home. She comes all dressed up in 100% upcycled vintage Guatemalan hand-woven fabric, cut from a used Huipil (traditional blouse handwoven by Guatemalan women). She has felted wool features,trim and flower hat. Stuffed with pure wool, she is quite a handful, measuring about 15"/38cm in diameter (arm to arm).

Wool stuffing is prized for its natural antibacterial and flame-retardant properties, its resiliency and memory. Olivia likes wool because it keeps all those little dust mites away.

Olivia has been designed and created by me with keen attention to detail, using amazing premium quality vintage fabrics, for a truly one-of-a-kind design.

She can be gently hand-washed or spot-cleaned if her arms get tangled up and she ends up in a heap. She has a soft spot (literally) for little ones who enjoy tickling each of her arms - arms which make her so easy to hug and hold.
