Gone Cats - original jazz painting - made in Manhattan - FREE GLOBAL SHIPPING
Description
Gone Cats (jazz slang for 'amazing jazz musicians' with a word play on the fact that many are now deceased) is a one-of-a-kind silkcreened painting from my old "Heart of Manhattan" series that is inspired by the jazz movement in New York City.Ever since most of Chicago's top musicians moved to New York in the mid-to-late 1920s, New York City has been the Jazz Mecca. Nearly every major jazz style of the past seventy years has been initiated in the Big Apple. The photographic Images are from vintage photos of famous jazz musicians who met and had jam sessions at the famous jazz club named Birdland in the 1950's and thereafter. The musicians in the painting include: Basie, Calloway, Hubbard, Morgan, Fitzgerald, and Coltrane. Incidentally, Freddie Hubbard passed away just a few weeks ago, so this is a tribute to his work.
Gone Cats is 16"wide x 24" high x 1/2" deep.
Signed, named, and dated on back (June 2008). Hand-printed before I came out with my signature Obama designs, this will hopefully be a collectible one day.
Domestic shipping is 2 Day USPS Priority with insurance and delivery confirmation, and is carefully gift-wrapped, packed between cardboard and finally shipping paper before being mailed. International shipping is via First Class International mail.
