Ceramic tile pendant necklace, Botanical in Rosa gloss, vertical rectangle focal piece

Description

Pendant size: 2 1/8” h x 1”w (6.75 cm x 2.5 cm) and 1/8” thick (2 mm)

A wearable miniature art tile in a warm, glossy glaze color I call Rosa gloss.

The pendant presented here is unique in shape, ornamentation and style. I hand cut each one from a hand-rolled porcelain slab; individually apply the surface decoration (like cake decorating for clay) of raised swirls, leaves and floral shapes; and glaze each with colors I developed. Some are also stamped to add another subtle layer of pattern.

Because of the handmade process and 18 different glazes I use, each pendant is truly one-of-a-kind. The back is unglazed, hand-stamped with my signature, “Kieffer,” and after both kiln-firings, sanded smooth for softness.

This porcelain pendant is fired to 2195 degrees and intended for decades of wear. Glazed porcelain is fragile, but equally durable.
