Needle Felted Chickadee Wool Sculpture

Description

This chickadee is wool sculpture that was needle felted by me. I discovered needle felting about 6 years ago. At that time I had been raising sheep for 7 years and selling the fleece to hand spinners. After discovering needle felting, it was as if it had all come full-circle. I had finally discovered something I truly loved doing utilizing my own wool. These little chickadees have become my trademark of sorts, since I am able to utilize all of the colors of my sheep in one bird.
There are many legends of the chickadee among Native Americans. I urge you to read more about them.
