Petrol Green Squiggle Lampwork beads - Kelleysbeads SRA

Description

I had fun making up a ton of turquoise sky blue twisties with clear and then wrapping them around ivory beads in a spiral from one hole to the other. So I did the same with these, but using petrol green instead of the blue glass. Each bead is different because the twisties varied in size/intensity of colors with each turn (a twisty is made by melting one rod of glass onto another and then twisting each rod in opposite directions very quickly to make a long, thin twisted rod of glass that is similar in appearance to a candy cane), which is excellent for providing you with unique beads to make your jewelry one-of-a-kind.

There are seven of these beads which all show dark outlines between the green and ivory glass. This is because ivory reacts to glass with metals in them, like this green where the metals easily come to the surface where it touches the ivory glass. These all come close to measuring 11x16mm.

All of my beads are handmade by me on a 3/32 mandrel, annealed in my digitally controlled kiln and then meticulously cleaned with a diamond reamer dremel.
