Niobium - Original Woodblock Print (Last one)
Description
This print is based on the Greek myth of Niobe whom the element Niobium is named after. Niobe was the queen of Thebes. She boasted of her fourteen children to the goddess Leto and as a result, Apollo killed her seven sons and Artemis killed her seven daughters. In her grief, Niobe wept and turned to stone.Niobium is an original two-color handcarved color woodcut print from a limited edition numbered 1 of 13. This is the last one of this print that I have for sale. This piece is numbered and signed in pencil. The image area is about 5.5" x 5.5". Printed on handmade acid-free Japanese printmaking paper in the traditional Japanese moku hanga style with artist grade watercolor pigments.
Niobium is part of the Periodic Table of the Elements Printmaking Project. The project website is located at http://home.comcast.net/~clarksbarn/periodic/elements.html
The print comes mounted with photo corners on acid-free mat board and packaged in an archival crystal clear resealable bag.
