I love buttons! I am addicted to those huge assorted button bags at the craft store! Simple buttons make the best base for a delicate tatted border. But now I've found something even better than craft store button assortments: vintage button assortments! This shiny purple button came in an assortment of vintage buttons I purchased from Sommersbreezeantique here on etsy!

I took this little button and worked a tatted edging around it in variegated burgundy and magenta thread. The pendant is approximately 1 1/2" across and set on a gold-tone jump ring. There is no chain included with the pendants. I can easily change the jump ring to silver-tone or attach a pin back, if you prefer. Just tell me so at check-out.

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method.
