The design of this journal/sketchbook is based on a medieval book made in Europe in 1539.

I made it with thick, golden brown cowhide, and used waxed Irish linen thread to create the medieval style binding with exposed stitching on outer spine.

It has two wrap-around leather straps to keep the journal closed and protect the pages--handy if you like to carry your journal/sketchbook with you.

The open book lays flat, making it easy to use. High quality 50 lb sketch paper, acid free and archival. Pages are hand-torn for old-world feeling. Perfect for writing, drawing with pencil, pen, charcoal and pastel.
