Flores-cloisonne enamel pendant
Description
This pendant was created using very ancient technique of enameling-Cloisonné (French-“partitions”)First Cloisonné enamel pieces were discovered around 10-11th century in Byzantine Empire.
I created this design by forming fine silver wires-leaves- on a cooper as a base metal.
Cloisonné cells were inlayed with various colors of transparent, opalescent enamels and fired numerous times. At the end it was hand polished and set in a sterling silver frame. Then silver granules were added for decoration.The pendant and chain are oxidized with silver patina.
The pendant measures 1 3/4 x 2 "including the bail
Weight-27 grams
18" sterling silver cable chain is included.
This pendant is one of the kind and has my –author’s signature”Nino” on the back.
