Description

This bracelet is a 16-strand flat kumihimo braid, which I made from mixed fibres in shadowy shades of black and silver.

The braid is 1.2cm (~1/2") wide, and the bracelet measures 19cm (8 1/4") in circumference. It opens and closes with a gunmetal bolt ring finding. If you would like a shorter length, let me know and I will happily adjust the bracelet to your requirements!

Kumihimo, an ancient Japanese craft, is a type of braiding done using a frame, called a marudai, and bobbins (in multiples of 4). In Japan, kumihimo braids are used to make obijime ties for kimono, and were used to assemble samurai armour.
