Contemporary Batik Quilt Moon and Stars

Description

This quilt measures approximately 42" x 52" and is made with 100% cotton batik fabrics in 2 inch squares in a grid patchwork pattern of spring green and rainbow batik with applique of blue, orange, and yellow moon and stars. The borders compliment amd emphasis the star theme in oranges and browns. The batik fabrics allow the colors to ebb and flow like watercolor washes. The colors will brighten anyone's day with its cheerful outlook on life. It is quilted with variegated colored 100% cotton thread in a meandering pattern that mimics the star theme, as well. The backing fabric is bright blue and yellow gold, which looks like shooting stars or comets.

My personal signature in the form of coordinating rosebuds inspired by origami folding art is attached to the bottom right corner of the quilt, and each quilt also comes with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity.

· This completely quilted original creation is perfect for a baby crib, nursery wall, or for car trips, roll the quilt in a complementary neckroll pillow case made of muslin and coordinating grossgrain ribbon ties.

· My inspiration was to bring more vibrant and interesting colors and designs for baby quilts and nursery decorations. As a contemporary artist, I am personally drawn to the variegated colors and combinations displayed by batik fabrics.

· My passion for arts started at Highland Hall, a Waldorf School in Northridge, CA, but the production takes place in the California foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

· Each quilt I make is a one-of-a-kind original. I may reuse some of the same fabrics in other creations, but the complementing colors, configuration, and appliques are always uniquely designed to make each quilt the only one of its kind!

· I am a college instructor in art appreciation, and I am also an accomplished theatre set designer.
