Handspun Handknit Alpaca Fingerless Mittens With Angora Fur Trim
Description
The material for these fingerless gloves came from my friend's alpaca. I did it all from start to finish: from the raw fleece to these beautiful handwarmers.When the fleece was clean and dry, I carded it, then spun it, and later handdyed it with turquoise and blue-green colors. This produced a lovely effect because the fleece was originally different tones of brown.
I handknit the mittens with my own design, which is narrower at the cuff and gets bigger at the top for an elegant look and perfect fit. The top of the gloves is decorated with angora yarn, which I get from my own bunny and spin it into beautiful, soft, warm and silky yarn.
These fingerless mittens are 7 inches long.
