This illustration is of the poor shepherd boy, Peter Patches, whose nick-name comes from his threadbare and patchwork clothes, as he braves entry into the dark and foreboding forest Grim Hollow. Armed with only with his wits and a magic cudgel to free the farmer’s stolen sheep from the cruel and wicked Ogre Tom Pigg, the ginger headed Peter Patches stands his ground.

For fans, friends, art collectors and fellow habitués of the Realm of Faerie, where mischief and malice, frivolity and fiendishness, rascals and royalty are the partiality of it’s capricious natives, the good folk or the hoi polloi as to your liking, I’ve got the makings of a tale for you. A Faerie Tale that is, mind you.

I’ve been laboring under the blast and breath of a divine afflatus, a long delayed and belayed duty to write and illustrate a maddingly large volume of children’s books, faerie tales and some dreadfully spooky stuff that have been cracking about in my skull for a long time now.

I have been flitting back forth betwixt two projects like a frustrated sparrow building two nests for two like-feathered mistresses. The first is called “Anne-Lise and the Book of Faerie” and the second work is “…Of Ghostly Matters!”

“Anne-Lise and the Book of Faire” is a tale of a young girl in possession of a rather extraordinary book and her companion, a talking crow, who is the King of Crows, as they fumble about in the world of Faerie.

As I labor on the aforementioned tale, the second wee bit of literature is a gallimaufry, an assorted hodgepodge of spooky tales and useful bits of ghostly information should one have the peculiarity of having such said encounters, hence the title, “…of Ghost Matters!”

The illustrations you find here are part of the means of my story creation, the manner in which I work. I welcome you aboard as I navigate through the maelstrom of fits and flashes of inspiration and the doldrums of staring at a blank, white paper with the accompanying realization you’ve got nothing and it’s time for a cigar.
