19 Century French Rose Pale Poet Handbag

This purse is designed with a luscious late 19th Century Antique French Floral Fabric. It is pale pink ground with lovely printed design, what I call cameo pink, but would be rose pale in french. See description below.

This fabric was printed in France around the end of the 19th Century. It is named Faille Moiree on the tag. This lovely design is printed in very beautiful tonal colors and features bouquets of roses and assorted other flowers in lovely frames made of scroll work and
accented with musical motifs. The ground is printed in a soft raspberry sherbet pink; the scroll work and flowers in varying shades of white,taupe and deep red. There are other berry-like motifs that are printed in a pale terra cotta.

The purse is designed as a small handbag with cameo pink lining with a pocket inside, and a single charming rose handle. I designed the bag to feature the interesting motifs in the fabric including scroll work with roses, musical instruments, and what looks like a coat of arms on the back. The front flap is accented with an engraved vintage style button from Italy, surrounded by organza petals. It closes with a single velcro attachment. The lining, gusset, and top tab that handle attaches to are cameo pink.
