UPCYCLED OCTOPUS from Guatemalan Huipil OOAK - Oxford

Description

Nominated for ETSY's Earth-friendly item poll, Oxford is a dapper and charming gentleman octopus stuffie, outfitted in upcycled vintage fashion and a very sophisticated black top hat.

His Abraham Lincoln style hat comes off to reveal a shock of wooly hair. He is a one-of-a-kind octopus (literally no others created like him). He's particularly great for babies and young children because of all of the textures, colors and contrasts.

Oxford comes all dressed up in 100% upcycled vintage Guatemalan hand-woven fabrics, cut from a used huipil (traditional blouse handwoven by Guatemalan women). He has felted wool features and trim. Stuffed with pure wool, he is quite a handful, measuring about 15"/38cm in diameter (arm to arm). Wool stuffing is prized for its natural antibacterial and flame-retardant properties, its resiliency and memory. Oxford particularly likes wool because it keeps all those little dust mites away.

Oxford has been designed and created by me with keen attention to detail, using amazing premium quality vintage fabrics, for a truly one-of-a-kind design.

Oxford can be gently hand-washed or spot-cleaned if his arms get tangled up and he ends up in a heap. He has a soft spot (literally) for little ones who enjoy tickling each of his arms - arms which make him so easy to hug and hold.
