The Lovers

Description

From my series of Fabulous Fiber Nudes, The Lovers is inspired by the figures from The Lovers Tarot card. This is Adam and Eve, created with recycled fabrics, felt and trims. I "drew" the figures and their surroundings with warm sepia and black stitching using my trusty 60's Singer sewing machine (all straight stitch - there's not even a zig zag stitch on this baby!)
Adam and Eve are partially clothed in a piece of sheer fabric that is covered in pale leaves. They are one with the woods around them! This vibrantly colored and richly textured folk art wallhanging will enliven any room and surely become a conversation piece!
To hang: insert a curtain rod, wooden dowel, or (BEST OF ALL!) a small tree branch through the two fabric loops, and either string it to one nail or hang directly on two nails.
