Birdhouse

Description

The driftwood birdhouse in this print spends it’s days nestled among the branches of a large pine tree, on the balcony railing of the cedar-planked deck of a romantic cabin, overlooking Sechelt Inlet. Sunshine Coast, British Columbia.

We rented the cabin for a three-day retreat a few years ago. Sitting on an Adirondack chair in the warm April sunshine, looking at the birdhouse on the ledge in front of me, I had to sketch it. I didn’t know then that the sketch would one day become a print. I drew it because the characters in the driftwood were too intriguing.
