Spoonrest - Squirrel with Acorn

Description

This lovely little porcelain spoon rest has been glazed in a high fire opalescent green and blue gloss glaze - where the glaze is thinner it is green, where it pools thicker it's a lovely textured blue. It measures approximately 2 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" long and almost 1" at it's tallest points. Use it to hold that messy cooking spoon, coins, or trinkets.

I impressed a thin slab of clay with my "Squirrel and Acorn" plaster mould (see my shop for ornaments and magnets made from this same mould!) and let the clay take it's natural shape. This glaze is non-lead and very durable.

I'm beginning to explore the use of my "tiny tile" moulds to create functional objects such as bowls, cups, spoon rests, salt & pepper shakers, and serving dishes. Watch for more one-of-a-kind pieces coming soon!
