Shells and Cord Belt

NO, it isn't a bikini top for a little girl!!!

This is a belt...

The two shells are glued to the belt cord, and the ends of the cords have little silver-color metal thingies on the ends. It wraps around the waist and the two ends fit through the loop.

Backs of shells have label: BaRi/USA
Shells measure 4" x 2 1/2" each.
Shells are very shiny and "pearl-like" in appearance.

Cord loop end measures 4 3/4" from shell. Loose ends measure 33" from shell to little silver ends.
Unknown age, but it sure doesn't look recent to me LOL.
Anyone ever seen this type of thing before?

Belt looks brand new.
