Butternut Oval Bowl with Handles

Description

Just finished this hand carved and shaped oval bowl. I rubbed and buffed it with a food safe homemade concoction of mineral oil and natural beeswax and then ran to get my camera.

Carved from a solid block that measured 12" by 7.5" by 3", I wasted very little. The useable bowl measures 9.5 x 6 x 1.88 and is laid out as an ellipse inscribed in a golden ratio rectangle. After bandsawing out the rough shape, it is completely formed by hand and eye in a symetrical form.

Signed, dated and material identified on the bottom.

Perfect for fruit, nuts, candy, car keys, loose change or just to pick up and rub it's silky feel. I have been rubbing it now for over three days and the Genie has yet to appear.
