Golden Amber Hoot Owl Stained Glass Suncatcher with Dazzling Eyes

Description

The Screech Owl, lovely little hunter of the woods. Handcrafted original design measures 6 1/2 inches tall by 4 3/8 inches wide (17cm tall by 11cm wide).

The owl is crafted using four different shades, types and textures of golden amber brown stained glass along with amber glass globs (glass nuggets) for the eyes with hand painted pupils. When light passes through the eyes they are quite dazzling.

All of the glass pieces except for the globs have been hand cut and assembled in the Tiffany method of glass, copper foil and solder. The bird's bill has been tack soldered to the body. The entire owl has been wrapped with lead came for strength. The metals have been chemically darkened with black patina and nicely polished. A loop is soldered to the back and 4" of chain included for hanging.
