Water Creature Earrings -- Blue Kyanite Gemstones on Oxidized Sterling SIlver

Description

Geologists describe the crystals that structure kyanite as "blades" or "columns," and in these gorgeous gemstone rectangles the crystals create a beautiful silver flash that glows from within. Their blue grey color also made me think of sea creatures, sea horses, mermaids, sirens! They have been wire-wrapped by hand on sterling silver wire, with soldered and hammered circles adding dimension and intrigue.

These subtle and versatile earrings are about 1 1/2 inches long (3.5 cm) including the hand-formed earwires. All sterling silver wire and accents have been oxidized and then sanded lightly and buffed to a warm shine.

The last picture shows a matching necklace, listed separately. The earrings and necklace would make a gorgeous gift set together.
