1913 encyclopedia - bellbird - envelope

aaaah, the beauty of aged paper, with it's softened and warm patina. this envelope has been folded from a page lovingly salvaged from a 1913 encyclopedia. it is taken from an entry about the bellbird. the envelope features a beautiful and delicate engraving of the lovely interesting bird. there is a lyrical harmony in using the page of a 86 year old encyclopedia to carry modern communications today. what a beautiful and rewarding way to benefit the planet by using existing materials in a new way. this is the perfect way to brighten the day of one of your bird or book loving friends. each envelope is like a tiny piece of history.

this envelope is cut, folded and glued by hand using acid-free adhesive to prevent any discoloration. the envelope measures 4 x 2 3/4 inches. a flat card made from recycled card stock is included as well as a closure tab made from antique maps and engravings.
