Vintage A.L.Hirsch Rover Mid Century Planter

Description

This guy is just too cute. I have a whole collection of these pottery planters in use around my house. They are fantastic for organizing stuff and looking good while they do it.

This happy daschund is the creation of A.L. Hirsch, and his name is Rover. I believe it is the same A.L. Hirsch(feld) who did famous caricatures of movie actors/actresses. He passed away in 2003 at the ripe old age of 100.

Rover was most likely intended to sit on a kitchen windowsill holding a plant in his bigger basket, while the smaller basket was a handy place to hold the Mrs. rings while she did the dishes!

He measures 7" wide by 8.5" tall and is in Mint Condition.
