Beach Bride Hair Comb Starfish SC Ocean Star

Description

Pretty Starfish brooches adorn this whimsical piece. Dotted with faux turquoise and pearls beads and a little sparkle on the side in the mother-of-pearl button center.

The large starfish is a Sarah Coventry design in the 'Ocean Star' pattern and was made in 1968 and measures 2 inches across. The second smaller brooch is unmarked and measures 1.5 inches. The combined measure on the focal is approx. 2.5 inches. The comb measure 5.5 inches, total measure - 6.25 inches with the starfish tips over the top of the comb.

This piece is fairly heavy and should be worn at a higher side of a french twist or chignon.

Can be worn straight down into a french twist to hide the teeth, or, at a side slant in a chignon with teeth exposed on the other side.

The last picture offers an example of size compared to my shorter 2.5 inch metal hair pin, the pin is not included with this comb.

Please Note: My hair combs and bobbies are a bit heavy and best for up-dos. It is best if your hair is fixed in your hair style and then the bobbies or combs are placed in your hair for decoration. These pins should not be used on fine hair to *fix* the hair in place, rather they are placed *in* your hair as decorative accents.

With my bobbies you can expect a small amount of "squeeze out" on the adhesive where the piece is attached to the pad on the backs. Nice strong grip! They are made using vintage costume jewelry and you should expect very good to fine condition on the vintage components. Major flaws will be noted.
