DIGITAL Scan 18th century BABY in antique Coach Birth Announcement French Postcard
Description
ONE High resolution electronic image (jpeg photo) scanned at 300 DPI will be emailed to you within 24 hours upon payment -- if not sooner! Print and use immediately for collage art, in your altered book or make into your own birth announcement/baby shower invitation! This is a scan of a rare and delightful French advertising postcard. My original postcard is unused with an undivided back, which dates its printing to 1903 or earlier. Originally an advertisement for Nestle (The can that the green-diapered toddler at the end is carrying was labeled Nestle Farine [flour]), this scan is a birth announcement for a baby boy. The French text at bottom says, "At the honor to inform you of his arrival in the world, ......[space for baby's name] we go well, mom and me." In its day, this would have been a "top of the line" expensive postcard because it was a full color lithograph with lots of gold leaf on it! Now I cleaned up just a little on this card in Photoshop, a few blemishes here and there -- but I left the light background untouched. It shows its antique status with brown foxing spots. I'll let you deal with those however you like -- with glazes, glosses, beeswax or whatver. You can re-use this as a baby shower invitation, a birth announcement, or just a fun collage element -- that baby is SO cute!
