Wool/Nylon Blend Tan and Brown Crocheted Striped Arm Warmers (size M-L)
Description
Arm warmers are particularly great for the days at the change of seasons--when it's warm enough to wear a T-shirt, but you still want something to cover your arms in the shade. The yarn for these arm warmers used to be part of a sweater, which I took apart and crocheted into something new. The fiber content of the arm warmers is 80% lambswool and 20% nylon. The result is a nice, warm yarn that isn't as scratchy as some wool yarns can be.
The arm warmers measure 9 1/2 inches long (24 cm), and are about 8 1/2 inches (22 cm) in circumference. The thumb hole sits about 1 1/4 inches (3 cm) from the edge of the arm warmer. I'm about 5'2", and these arm warmers extend to the point where my hand joins my fingers, and about 2/3 of the way up my forearm. I would call this size a medium or large--they are very loose on my skinny little wrists. These arm warmers stretch a bit less than the others in my shop, due to the fiber content.
Due to the wool content in these arm warmers, I recommend hand washing in cold water and air drying. The yarn seems to have felted or fulled a small amount already, and may be done, but in order to avoid shrinking these arm warmers, you're probably better off washing by hand.
