The Spider and the Fly - Temptation March EBWC Challenge

"Will you walk into my parlour? said the spider to the fly.
'Tis the prettiest parlour that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've many curious things to shew when you are there.
On no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair, can ne'er come down again".

With swirls and webs of sparkling seed beads, the little insect can't help but face the temptation of entering the dazzling parlor of the black widow spider.

This bead embroidery pendant is my interpretation of the EBW street team's March challenge of "Temptation". Highlighting the pendant is a Czech glass button featuring a black widow spider. She has been encased in a peyote woven bezel of gun metal gray, black and bronze Japanese seed beads. Many more seed beads and a little silver insect have been added to complete the pendant. Back of the pendant is finished with a black faux leather fabric.

Pendant is strung on a St. Petersburg woven necklace strap. I have used smoky gray seed beads along with black iridescent Czech fire-polished beads and distressed metallic finish red seed beads for a vintage feel to the necklace. This combination of beads give the woven chain the impression of gossamer insect wings.

Pendant measures 2 1/2" long by 2" wide. Necklace strap is 17". Necklace closes with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
